  •  Ink Cartridge Recycling program implemented
  •  Campus Energy Forum
  •  Hiring for ALL SEC internship positions for Summer and Fall 2010!

 October 1, 2009:

  • New composting program for the University Dining Hall is underway. Composting is done by Danny's Dumpsters.
  •  Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival
  •  Asheville 350 (www.350.org)

 September 1, 2009:

  • We have hired new interns! Jamie Ervin is the new Campus and Community Outreach coodinator, Sean Gallager is working as the Energy coordinator, and Georgia Frierson is the new Social Marketing and Graphic Design intern.
  • The campus FreeStore is now open! It is located in the Highsmity University Union on the first floor.

 November 18, 2008:

  • We have hired a new recycling and waste coordinator -- Havely Carsky.
  • We are searching for an intern for the graphic design and social marketing position at the SEC for the Spring 2009 semester. Click here for an internship application and details about the position . Once completed, send the application along with a resume to environmentunca@gmail.com

 November 17, 2008:

  • Lots of new events added to the "Events" section of the site.
  • The new green tour site is currently in development. Once completed, all information about the green features of UNC Asheville campus buildings will be available here. Check back regularly, as more information will be added often!

October 29, 2008:

  • The November edition of the SEC Newsletter is up and ready for viewing. Please go to the SEC Newsletter site to download in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Publisher format.
  • A new "Take Action" part of the website has been added.

October 15, 2008:

  • The new volunteer information page is up. It includes a list of local environmental organizations in need of volunteers. Check out the volunteer page.

 October 9, 2008:

  • We are currently searching for an intern for the Fall 2008 semester. The position title is recycling and waste coordinator. Click here for an internship application. Once completed send the application along with a resume to environmentunca@gmail.com
  • Our office at Highsmith Union room 174 is now open from 10:00am to 6:00pm Monday - Friday starting today. (except for 10:00am-11:00am Tuesday, and 2:00pm - 4:00pm Friday)
