Campus Garden
SEC initiated the first student-run campus garden, located behind the Dining Hall. It is managed by a volunteer garden crew under the direction of the Sustainable Food & Landscape Intern.

Earth Hour
Earth Hour is an initiative to raise power conservation awareness. On the first Monday of every month, students pledge to unplug and remove thesmelves from all powered devices for one hour.
Eco Reps
The Eco Reps volunteer program was established in 2009 to involve students living in the residence halls in campus projects run by the Student Environmental Center.
February 18th: Skill Sharing Event
Get together with local minds to learn new, useful skills - its free!
This event takes place on Saturday, the 18th of February.
FreeStore
The Student Environmental Center started the FreeStore, which is located in the Highsmith University Union. The FreeStore gives students a venue to "free cycle" items that are still in good condition and can be used by other students.
Green Leaf Awards
Nominate faculty and staff members who you feel should be recognized for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
Hominy Creek Cleanup
In February, the SEC and UNC Asheville Outdoors teamed up with Riverlink to clean up Hominy Creek, along the French Broad River in West Asheville.
Lighting Efficiency
Occupancy sensors installed: in the Student Government Association office, other offices, storage closets, bathrooms in Highsmith Union, the Student Environmental Center office, and residence hall laundry rooms.
