Greenfest is a week of sustainably themed events that the Student Environmental Center and other campus organizations (Student Government Association, Outdoor Programs, etc.) put on every fall and spring semester. Past events have included: the Spring Sustainability Fair on the quad, a wildfire walk and panel, on and off-campus service days, the Bulldog Bike Bonanza, and environmentally-focused movie screenings. Like the Greenfest Facebook page and visit the Greenfest website. We'll be posting more information about Fall 2017 Greenfest on Facebook and on the website as it approaches!
Farm to Table Dinner
In September of 2015, we hosted the first annual Farm to Table Dinner on the Quad bringing together students, faculty, community members and food producers over a fantastic meal. The event included dancing and music provided by the UNCA Bluegrass Ensemble. The 2016 Dinner focused on the Native American culture and food in the region, with storytellers and dancers from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and a language lesson from students and faculty in the Native American Studies program. The 2017 dinner will be about migration, celebrating the food and culture of the immigrants who have influenced this region and nation. More information will be available on the Facebook Event Page.
